On 14th April, Mr. P. Prashanth, Head of CampusFrance Office of the Consulate General, participated in a discussion with the Chinese University students on French culture & France Today in the framework of the French Culture Course organized by Ms. Christele Joly, the French teacher of the University.

The topics ranged from socio-political issues to psychology. The discussion started from the French position on Tibet and the protestations in the Parisian streets for the Olympic Torch Parade. This issue was indeed a very sensitive issue for students. This was followed by the relationship between parents & children in France which was followed by the definition of the French Democracy and the origin of "left-wing" & "right-wing" in politics. Students were amazed by the amount of money French State spends in the field of Arts, French language and Education. The basic Debate culture and freedom of speech in France was explained to the students by Mr. P. Prashanth & Ms. Christele Joly with many anecdotes. A comparison between western way of thinking and eastern way of thinking was also discussed followed by the adolescent problems in France, which concluded the discussion with a photo session.
