In order to apply for a visa, an appointment must first be made online. The time for appointment is from Mondays to Fridays (except public holidays), from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
No application can be made without a prior appointment .
The processing time for a visa varies according to individual circumstances. We strongly recommend that applicants do not make non-refundable travel arrangements until they receive the approval for their visa; visa applicants cannot assume their application will be automatically approved.
Because of longer waiting time to obtain an appointment at peak periods and holiday seasons, you are advised to make an appointment as soon as possible but no more than 90 days in advance.
On the day of the appointment:
1 appointment = 1 passport.
Only one visa application will be treated per appointment.
No sending of documents to the consulate prior to application.
The visa section does not accept any document sent directly or faxed to the Consulate in support of visa applications. The originals documents should be presented by the applicant for the scheduled interview, together with one set of photocopies.
Only the applicant is admitted for the interview, unless he/she needs to be accompanied owing to age, ill health or difficulties in speaking French or English.
Minor applicants have to be accompanied by their mother or father or legal guardian for the personal interview.
Please note that there is no waiting area in front of the Consulate for friends or relatives who are not admitted for the interview.
Please note that applicants for student visa must have already finished the CampusFrance Academic Interview before going to the Visa Counter, see the concerned pages for Student visa in our Visa page
